On the one hand, Steve complained that I mentioned him taking me away from useful work on yesterday's conference call. On the other hand, he stayed out of my way when I was doing useful work. Definitely a worthwhile tradeoff, I think.
My grades from the winter quarter have now been posted. It's definitely a trend now; I'm scoring higher than I was in engineering school, but I really don't think I'm working as hard. I'm not asking to get lower grades; I'd just rather have tougher work to do. I can't wait to sink my teeth into the cataloguing textbook, when it shows up.
My father pinged me earlier today to propose--and I agreed on--a ski trip this evening. We got bogged down because Jeff turned out to have another engagement, then because my mother hadn't been informed and thought we were having a sit-down dinner, and so forth. In the end, we only got a half-hour or so there, but it was far, far better than nothing. Everything was melting; everything was dirty and gritty. I was so, so happy to be there, jacket open, wishing I'd thought of leaving it inside and just going in a t-shirt.
