Our guests headed out this morning, seeming very happy to have been hosted by us. I like hosting people, and I especially like feeding them. Sure, there's a lot of dishes to do, but I think I inherited something cultural from my parents that says it's a good and honorable thing to feed one's guests well.
I dropped off my broken laptop at the shop that Brian had a support contract with. The guy behind the counter charged fifty bucks and said he'd mail it out on Monday. I don't know what the fifty bucks were for, but as the company paid them and not me, I'm okay with it. My father drove me out for this, and we had some interesting chit-chat. (He wanted to add compulsory email-based registration for downloading an open source project. I told him that this was a horrible idea and that he should instead collect optional demographics, if that's all he's interested in.) We were going to go up and ski tonight, but instead, he had to go to the ER to do another on-call shift, because the guy who was supposed to be on call stuck his hand in a snowblower.
I went over to Jeff's place in the afternoon and evening, got some dinner and went for a walk. Jeff's place is looking a lot cleaner since his couch-wart departed. (He's in Florida now, roofing or something like that.) Jeff didn't actually kick him out... but hey, it's better than nothing. I was saddened to learn that he considered DragonForce to be crap, and happy to score new FMA DVDs to give to the Cat as a token of my appreciation for him doing my taxes.
No comments today. I was out livin' life, and all. |
