I finally achieved a degree of usefulness at work. I was asked to abstract and extend some of the earliest functionality I'd added to the system. Drawing on what I'd seen Jay do several times, I separated the parts that the requested variants would have in common, and the parts they wouldn't. More specifically, ( dorkery ).
Lunch was with Steve's wife, who I hadn't met before. She does a dynamite impression of the guy; I feel much better about his attitude now. I know it's just his way of dealing with people, and it's something I'm confident I can handle. Also, I can just think of her and giggle inwardly.
Carin was nervous about a math test this evening. She got an A. She's feeling pretty stress about doing anything less than perfectly at the moment, because she thinks it will get harder as the semesters roll on. But they'll be throwing roughly the same amount of material at her each semester; the difference is in what you know at the beginning. I have every confidence in her.
