The worst thing about going without sleep is that for at least part of the ensuing day, I'll think, hey, I'm fully awake and alert; I'm like Superman! Who needs to sleep more than four hours a night anyway? Of course, now I'm reaping the results of that, unable to focus on anything long enough to do the research half of this week's "Information Resources and Services II" homework. I didn't want to nudge it off until tomorrow, but I suppo
Also, I was ravenously hungry today. I don't know why, but I just kept getting up and fixing myself something about every half-hour. That and a headache, I think, were the only effects of the low-sleep thing. Apart from, of course, losing my train of thought every few minutes, forgetting what I was doing, and occasionally fighting off the overwhelming urge to sleep.
Apparently I have stuff to do at work now. I was a bit worried at not really having anything to do, but Jim's got me fixing some stuff. So we're good. Didn't get to go see my folks this evening, though; enough people got sick or hit by buses that my father had to go pull an ER shift tonight. We still went out to the buffet, though, and I ate frogs' legs. I know they're supposed to taste chickeny, but they don't. The texture is pretty chickeny, but apart from that, they aren't much like chickens. I mean, they're as far from chickens as they are from us, phylogenetically speaking.
